### About TELEMED

Welcome to Telemed, a pioneer in the field of medical imaging technology. Established in 1992 by three visionary young engineers, our company embarked on a journey to revolutionize the world of diagnostic ultrasound. The company was founded at a time when the term "telemedicine" had not yet become a household word. The term "telemedicine," denoting "healing at a distance," originating from the Latin "medicus" and the Greek "tele," was coined by the American Thomas Bird in the 1970s. However, the technology of telemedicine has its roots in the early 20th century, when Willem Einthoven, a Dutch physiologist, pioneered the invention of the first electrocardiograph in his laboratory in Leiden. Telemed founders believed that real-time ultrasound beamforming combined with the power of the PC and the Internet can change the paradigm of ultrasound imaging.

From the very beginning, Telemed was driven by innovation and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of what was possible in medical imaging. Our early ideas included harnessing the processing power of computer processors and graphic cards instead of traditional microcontrollers. We also saw the potential in the emerging USB technology and began our journey with USB 1.0, progressing through USB 2.0, and now seamlessly integrating USB3 and USB-C interfaces into our latest designs.

Fun fact: One of our first achievements was the development of a completely analogue ultrasound system with no microcontroller, featuring a smart solution for passing ultrasound signals to a CRT display without the need for costly A/D and D/A conversion. This device was not only innovative but also affordable, becoming the very first device approved for medical diagnostics in independent Lithuania.

### Pioneering Digital Transformation

In 1993, Telemed unveiled it’s first ultrasound scanner that used a desktop computer for processing ultrasound signals. This innovative system featured a separate analogue beamformer unit connected to a computer motherboard via an ISA card, marking a significant leap forward in the field of medical imaging technology.

### Supplying the Industry

In 2000, Telemed achieved a significant milestone by signing its first international OEM supply agreement. This momentous achievement solidified Telemed's reputation as a trusted supplier of OEM beamformers to the medical industry, laying the foundation for years of successful collaborations.

### Delivering Portable Excellence

In 2005, Telemed released the LS 64, its first color Doppler system. This revolutionary device was lauded for its portability, battery power, and outstanding quality-to-price ratio. It set new standards in the industry and earned accolades from both customers and research teams.
### Innovation Beyond Boundaries

Since then, Telemed has continued to innovate, releasing a series of scanners and OEM components that have garnered high praise for their performance and reliability. With the introduction of the ArtUs scanner, Telemed unlocked new markets by offering an optional RF module that gave researchers access to RF and channel data offline and in real-time, all at a fraction of the cost compared to other providers.
